One definition of Honor is: high respect, as for worth, merit, or rank.
The topic of honoring myself has been on my mind for about a month now. Do I honor myself?
In some ways I do. I'm starting to think that in most ways, or at least in ways that are important, I don't.
I've been paying attention to my thoughts about myself during this past month and I often times think, "Oh, it's just me."
In other words:
I don't have to fix a nice meal when I'm eating alone...it's just me.
I don't have to clean up...it's just me.
We can do whatever everyone else wants to do...it's just me.
I can agree to do all these things I don't want to do...it's just me.
and on and on and on...
I haven't decided what my resolutions will be. I know it has to be something greater than I'll Honor Myself. How is that any better than I'll be good to myself?
